VIP Program F.A.Q

Q  How is the VIP Program program different from our competitors?

A  In the poker industry VIP systems are built to reward and support professional poker players. These are players that play on many tables simultaneously. Many of them are playing long hours and prey on recreational players. However, recreational players make up the vast majority of players online.

Like anybody else professionals have the right to play online, and they have success with it. But we don’t plan to reward them for their success. Unfortunately, recreational players are often neglected by VIP programs that reward professional players. At PokerNuts we would rather focus our rewards on the players who show true VIP to our site.

Q  How am I rewarded?

A  Our VIP Program has been designed to share most of the points with recreational players. At PokerNuts we aim to fill a gap missing in the poker industry today: taking care of recreational players on a regular basis. It shouldn't matter if you play one table at a time instead of ten.

The criteria to move to the next level are much lower than any other online poker room. And when you reach the next level the following calendar month you need only half of the required points to maintain that level. Even better, if you do not maintain that level in the following month, we give you an additional 30 days grace period to ensure that you keep your achieved Nuts level.

We are sure that you will be pleased with the results.

Q  What are the types of points?

A  There are two different types of points:

  • Status Points
  • Nuts Coins

Status Points
Your VIP Program level is decided by the number of Status Points you acquire. These points are then multiplied by a factor assigned to each VIP Program level. For example, if you earn 100 Status Points and you are a member of the VIP Program level your Status Points will be multiplied by 4 and you will earn 400 Nuts Coins. In order to maintain your level you need to earn at least half of the points you needed to achieve that level each month. For example, the VIP Program level costs 20,000 Status Points to achieve but only 10,000 to maintain.

Please see the chart above for details.

Your Status Points are reset on the first of each calendar month. The Status Points are used as a constant counter of your play and cannot be redeemed or transferred.

During the first month you earned 2,000 Status Points and you got Silver Nuts membership.
If you earn less than 1,000 Status Points, you will be dropped to Bronze Nuts at the beggining of the next month.
If you earn 5,000 Status Points you will receive Gold Nuts membership etc.

Nuts Coins
Your Status Points earn you spending points called Nuts Coins. Nuts Coins may be used to purchase products in the VIP Store or as the buy-in to selected tournaments and events.
Please note: Nuts Coins only expire if you do not earn any Nuts Coins within one full calendar year.
For instance, if you earn any Nuts Coins in the year 2010, your Nuts Coins will not expire that year. However, if you earn no Nuts Coins in the 2011 calendar year, your Nuts Coins will expire on December 31, 2011.

For every Status Point you earn, you also earn Nuts Coins based on your VIP Program level.

Q  How do I earn Status Points?

A  You earn points by playing in PokerNuts games which have a rake or fee.

In PokerNuts tournaments, you earn points based on the entry fee. You receive Status Points at the rate of 6 Status Points for each $1.00 USD paid as a fee.

Fractional Status Points will be awarded in hundredths.

For example:
Playing in a $5 buy-in tournament with a $0.50 entry fee will earn you 3 Status Points.

Please note: "Play Money" and "Freeroll" tournaments do not charge a cash fee, so you do not earn Status Points from them.

You will receive 6.6 Status points for every $1 you paid in rake. The part of the rake that feeds the rake race jackpot is not accumulating you Status points. Status Points are awarded based on the same formula to each player. However, as you progress to higher VIP Program levels your points are converted into Nuts Coins (spending points) at higher multiples. As an example, 100 Status Points at the Bronze Nuts level will earn you 100 Nuts Coins while at the Royal Nuts level your 100 points would earn you 400 Nuts Coins. All Nuts Coins are redeemable for cash in our Rewards store at any time.

"Play Money" and "Freeroll" tournaments do not charge a cash fee, so you do not earn Status Points from them.

Q  How many Nuts Coins do I earn for each Status Point?

A  The higher your Royal Club level, the more Royalty Points you will earn for each hand played at a real money table or for taking part in tournaments with an entry fee.

The table below shows how you can reach higher Royal Club levels and how many Royalty Points you can earn at each level.

A Bronze Nuts member plays in a qualified raked hand. He earns 1 Status Point and at the same time he also earns 1 Nuts Point. A Gold Nuts member plays the same hand and earns 1 Status Point, but earns 2 Nuts Coins (not 1) for playing this hand.

A Platinum Nuta member plays in a raked cash game hand for which 2 Status Points are awarded. He earns 3 Nuts Coins for each Status Point, so he would receive 6 Nuts Coins for playing this hand
